The real estate industry has never been simply about buying and selling property.
At its best, it is about helping families build security, entrepreneurs establish businesses, investors create wealth, and communities grow stronger through responsible homeownership and professional leadership.
Few professionals understand that responsibility more completely than Dr. Talvia Peterson.
For more than twenty five years, Dr. Peterson has built an extraordinary career that combines executive leadership, financial expertise, entrepreneurship, education, and real estate excellence. While many professionals choose a single career path, she has successfully integrated banking, business ownership, executive coaching, and real estate into a leadership platform that continues to influence professionals across North Carolina and beyond.
Today, she serves as Owner of Here to Serve Realty, Broker in Charge and Branch Manager with Long and Foster Real Estate, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of A Pink Success, LLC, and an approved North Carolina Real Estate Instructor. Each role reflects her commitment to raising the standards of professionalism while helping both clients and agents achieve lasting success.
Her journey into real estate was shaped long before she entered the industry.
As Vice President of a national banking institution, Dr. Peterson gained invaluable experience working with individuals, families, and business owners as they navigated important financial decisions. She witnessed firsthand how access to financial education often determined whether families could build wealth through homeownership or remain limited by financial uncertainty.
Those experiences transformed her understanding of real estate.
A home was never simply a property.
It represented opportunity.
It represented stability.
It represented generational wealth.
Most importantly, it represented hope.
That perspective continues to influence every aspect of her work today.
Unlike many brokers who focus solely on transactions, Dr. Peterson approaches real estate as an opportunity to educate, empower, and guide clients through one of the most significant investments of their lives.
She believes informed clients make stronger financial decisions, and educated real estate professionals provide better service to the communities they represent.
That philosophy has become the cornerstone of her leadership.
As Broker-in-Charge and Branch Manager at Long & Foster Real Estate, Dr. Peterson oversees professionals who help buyers, sellers, and investors navigate an increasingly competitive and complex housing market.
Her leadership extends well beyond production goals.
She invests significant time mentoring agents, strengthening leadership skills, improving professional standards, and helping REALTORS® build businesses founded on integrity, knowledge, and exceptional client service.
Colleagues often describe her as a leader who believes success is never achieved alone.

She creates environments where collaboration replaces competition and where experienced professionals willingly mentor those entering the industry.
That culture of leadership has become one of the defining characteristics of her career.
Education remains one of Dr. Peterson’s greatest passions.
As an approved North Carolina Real Estate Instructor, she prepares future real estate professionals with practical knowledge that extends beyond licensing requirements.
She teaches agents how to build sustainable businesses.
How to develop trusted client relationships.
How to navigate changing markets.
How to lead ethically.
How to communicate professionally.
And perhaps most importantly, how to become trusted advisors rather than simply sales professionals.
Her students quickly discover that real estate success requires far more than understanding contracts and regulations.
It requires emotional intelligence.
Business discipline.
Continuous learning.
Strategic thinking.
And a genuine commitment to serving others.
These qualities have become the foundation of Dr. Peterson’s teaching philosophy.
Her leadership within organized real estate reflects that same commitment to professional excellence.
She previously served as President of the Women’s Council of REALTORS® Greater Triangle Network and currently serves on both the Raleigh Regional Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors and the North Carolina REALTORS® Board of Directors.
Throughout her leadership journey, she has contributed her expertise across numerous committees, including Finance, Leadership Identification and Development, Professional Development, Professional Standards, Risk Management, Risk Management for Brokers in Charge, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and organizational governance.
These roles have allowed her to help shape policies, strengthen professional education, and advocate for the continued advancement of the real estate profession throughout North Carolina.
Her commitment to leadership also includes graduating from the Triangle Leadership Academy and serving as a RPAC Major Investor, demonstrating her dedication to protecting private property rights while supporting legislation that benefits homeowners, REALTORS®, and communities alike.
While real estate remains central to her career, Dr. Peterson’s influence extends well beyond the industry.
She has successfully built businesses across banking, executive coaching, leadership development, and the beauty industry, giving her a uniquely comprehensive understanding of entrepreneurship.
That broad business experience provides tremendous value to the agents she mentors.
She understands that successful REALTORS® are not simply sales professionals.
They are business owners.
They must understand leadership.
Marketing.
Financial management.
Client experience.
Brand development.
And long term strategic planning.
Dr. Peterson prepares professionals to excel in each of these areas.
Her leadership has also earned national recognition.
She has appeared in numerous television, radio, newspaper, magazine, and digital media outlets including FOX 40, WRAL, Z106.3, FortWayne.com, Bakersfield.com, Style Magazine, Beacon, News 4 Tucson, Santa Maria Times, The Sun Chronicle, Applause Magazine, and many additional publications highlighting her expertise in leadership, entrepreneurship, financial empowerment, and real estate.
Her accomplishments have been recognized through prestigious honors including the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award, the 44th Presidential Legacy Lifetime Achievement Award recognizing Black History Month and Black Excellence, the Property Empire Builder Award, and the Committee Chairperson of the Year Award.
Each reflects a career built upon professional excellence and meaningful service.
One of her most enduring contributions extends beyond the real estate profession.
Dr. Peterson led a coalition of women whose advocacy resulted in the State of Georgia officially recognizing April 10, 2009, as 100 Black Women Empowerment Day through House Resolution 913. The historic recognition celebrated “A United Voice for Change: A Day of Empowerment and Motivation” while demonstrating the impact thoughtful leadership can have on communities and future generations.
Her commitment to service also continues through Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, where she currently serves locally as Awards and Protocol Chairman while supporting scholarship, civic engagement, leadership development, and community service.
Academically, Dr. Peterson earned her Master of Business Administration from the University of Central Florida and her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida. She was also awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Trinity International University of Ambassadors in recognition of her leadership, professional excellence, and community impact.
Looking across her remarkable career, one theme consistently emerges.
Dr. Talvia Peterson has never viewed real estate as simply a profession.
She views it as a platform for changing lives.
Every family who purchases a home gains more than property.
Every REALTOR® she mentors gains more than professional knowledge.
Every entrepreneur she coaches gains more than business advice.
They gain confidence.
They gain vision.
They gain the tools to build a stronger future.
As the real estate industry continues to evolve through changing technology, shifting markets, and new consumer expectations, leaders like Dr. Talvia Peterson remind us that the foundation of exceptional real estate has never changed.
It is built on trust.
It is strengthened through education.
It grows through service.
And it leaves its greatest legacy by helping others build lives, businesses, and communities that will endure for generations.
For Dr. Talvia Peterson, every transaction represents an opportunity to create something greater than a successful closing.
It is an opportunity to build a future.
That vision continues to define her leadership and establish her as one of the most respected voices in real estate today.
