Joe’s story began in the construction industry, where he spent over a decade working for a major builder in San Diego. Starting from the ground up, he eventually rose to the position of assistant superintendent. However, as the building boom in San Diego began to slow down due to the lack of available land, Joe found himself at a crossroads. It was at this moment that he started considering a career shift.

The turning point came when Joe met his former wife, who worked in lending. With the construction industry slowing, Joe saw an opportunity to enter the real estate business, believing that it offered stability and could serve as a hedge against inflation. He quickly enrolled in courses at a local junior college to obtain his real estate license, which was then a requirement for becoming a loan officer.

Joe passed the real estate exam in February of 1993 and started his career as a residential real estate loan officer at a small brokerage. His success in the role led him to a position as a Wholesale Account Executive at a mortgage lender, where he spent three years managing relationships between lenders, brokers, and underwriting departments. Despite thriving in this role, Joe realized his true calling was in residential real estate sales. His transition into becoming a full-time Realtor® was the natural evolution of his career, combining his knowledge of construction, financing, and the intricacies of buying and selling homes. After 12 years as a real estate salesperson and lender, Joe passed the Broker exam in June of 2005 and has been an Associate Broker since.
