Salerno Realty Inc. Was founded by Mario Salerno — Mark’s Father, in 1970 and has since been taken over by Mark. Mark has worked hard over the years to maintain the upstanding reputation that Mario built for Salerno Realty Inc. Today, the team is known for their up-front and honest approach to real estate along with the boutique experience that clients are hard pressed to find elsewhere. Mark was born and raised in Vaughan, Ontario and is known for having insight on the local market. This gives Salerno Realty Inc an edge that many competing teams don’t have. A great deal of the team’s business is based from word of mouth referrals and their giant social media platforms with a combined following of over 500,000+.
Social Media
Salerno credits much of his success to his efforts to build a social media presence early in his career, making him one of the largest RE professional personal brands in all of Canada. Mark went on to say “A lot of time and effort has been put into building a social media presence, it’s paid off in so many ways allowing us to grow & be known throughout the community & globally.” Online credibility is a huge asset in the world of Real Estate, and social media is the easiest method to acquire the social proof you need to be seen as a legitimate player in the space. A large social media following can come with downsides as well, and Mark has unfortunately had to deal with many people creating fake profiles imitating him. The imitators use these profiles to scam money, catfish, or commit other malicious actions. Salerno recommends that agents utilize social media, the advocate mandates that all of the firm’s agents use social media as a tool to market homes and be better connected within the community.
The Future For Salerno Realty Inc & Mark
Mark likes keeping a lean team and staying in the market that he knows so he can provide a higher level of service to every client that works with the team. In the future, Salerno views the Canadian Real Estate market to continue to raise rates in reflection of inflationary pressures in Canada. Salerno mentioned that “Although rates are rising, a city such as Toronto is prime to maintain home values due to demand to live in the area. You can always refinance your loan later on as inflation starts to drop, a home on the other hand is here today and can be gone tomorrow.” As rates move into the future, Mark intends to keep dominating the Toronto area luxury market as he loves the area and knows it like the back of his hand.
